Resume mistakes - IT
Good morning everyone.
I am currently working on my resume to start my search for employment next year in March. All assistance with the questions below are greatly appreciated.
-
What are some common entries on resumes that you see that you view as complete bogus or know that the candidate is clearly reaching, particularly in the "Technical Skills" portion?
-
Do you advertise Certs you are working towards and expecting to certify by a certain date? Ex. CCNP - Expected completion date 02/2020
-
Color; a friend of mine sent me his resume and had blue and red coloring for certain sentences or to highlight skills. Do you advise against?
-
Programming Skills; when someone is certified in a programming language I've heard real programmers cringe and say it either doesnt impact or negatively impacts. What has been your experience?
-
Is 2 pages the max? How do you feel about a 3 page resume?
-
Anything at all you may see on a resume that turns you off and you hope ITs stop putting it in their resume?
-
Any rule of thumbs?
Thank you all for your time.
