Information Technology Master's Degree Questions

Hello all,

I am a recent engineering grad (industrial engineering) and have also recently been accepted to a master's degree program at my school (Information Science and Technology MS). I have a couple questions about anyone who has done a similar program or who may have any answers at all for me.

First, is there a lot of coding or programming involved and is there a lot of prior knowledge needed? I have no problem at all with learning to code more. I have some experience in Python, but that's about it.

Second, I'm wondering if having knowledge in other languages is needed or if I will most likely be taught this through the master's program.

I was admitted to the program very quickly which leads me to believe the school thinks I am very qualified for this master's program. I am in no way intending to brag about this or anything, I just want to know what I am getting myself into. If there is a lot of prior knowledge needed, then I may struggle at first. But if this program (or other like it) take the time to teach you what you need to know first, then that will put my mind at ease.

Also, I have no problem doing the extra work needed to catch up, I just don't want to be caught in the dark when the semester starts (Fall 2020) and I have no clue what I am doing.

Any information anyone can share would be greatly appreciated. Bad information is better than no information at all! Thank you in advance!
