How much money can I expect to earn Entry Level?
I am about to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Information Science, with a specialization in Cybersecurity. I am currently studying for the Security+ exam and will be taking that pretty soon. What I want to know is how much money I can expect to start earning as an entry level with all of these qualifications.
Most people I know who have similar degrees as me and go into government agencies(in the DC metro area) start anywhere for $60k and up, the most common being around $70k a year. I have heard that having a Sec+ cert is very beneficial, so I wanted to know if that adds onto the pay.
Now I have heard that it doesn't necessarily = more pay, but it more so makes it so you qualify for a job that has a higher salary. For example, someone in my position without Sec+ might only qualify for job "a" that pays $60,000 but I qualify for job "b" that pays $70,000.
Is this correct?
